Up to 40% cheaper tickets on two more LTG Link train routes
LTG Link, a passenger transport company of the LTG Group, is expanding the number of routes where dynamic pricing will be applied. From April 12, this pricing strategy will be applied on two more local routes – Vilnius–Turmantas–Vilnius and Kaunas–Kybartai–Kaunas.
Dynamic pricing on these routes will provide passengers with more opportunities to save – tickets will be available for up to 40 percent cheaper. As the trip approaches and the train occupancy increases, the ticket price will gradually increase and may be up to 10 percent higher than the regular price.
Dynamic pricing is a method of setting prices when they change depending on demand, seasonality and other factors. In the case of LTG Link, this system allows passengers to find more favorable offers, and the company to better utilize train capacity and adapt more effectively to real travel flows.
“Dynamic pricing gives passengers more opportunities to find more favorable prices, and for us to better adapt to real travel flows. This is an important direction of LTG Link’s strategy, as we aim to become the backbone of the country’s transport system and ensure that train travel is a convenient and affordable option for the widest possible segment of society,” says Kristina Meidė, head of LTG Link.
When applying dynamic pricing, it remains possible to take advantage of all valid discounts and privileges, for example, student or disabled. This means that the ticket prices visible in the ticket sales system may be even lower, if additional discounts are applied to tickets. For example, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė route, the ticket price can reach 3.12 euros, and after applying a 50 percent discount per passenger – from 1.56 euros.
Currently, dynamic pricing is already applied on the most popular local transport routes: Vilnius–Kaunas–Vilnius, Kaunas–Marijampolė–Kaunas, Kaunas–Šiauliai–Kaunas, Vilnius–Trakai–Vilnius, Vilnius–Varėna (Marcinkonys)–Vilnius. On international routes, cheaper tickets can be purchased when traveling to Riga, Krakow, Szczecin and Suwałki.
