Changes are taking place within the management of AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai (LTG). By mutual agreement, the company’s CEO, Egidijus Lazauskas, is stepping down from his position.

Mr. Lazauskas’s last working day is April 10. Until a new CEO is selected and appointed, his duties will be temporarily assumed by LTG CFO Arūnas Rumskas, who has been appointed Acting CEO. In addition, Vytautas Radzevičius, Director of Strategy and Business Development, will temporarily take on certain CEO responsibilities.

“We thank Egidijus for his substantial contribution to the organization’s growth and the consistent implementation of our strategy. During his tenure, the foundations of the organization’s operations were strengthened, stability was ensured, and a solid platform for further development was established,” says Robertas Vyšniauskas, Chairman of the LTG Group Board.

He notes that the organization is entering a new phase of expansion. The changed security environment has set a clear priority—to strengthen LTG’s role in resilience and defense, and to consistently expand operations that create long-term value for the state and society.

“Therefore, we are reviewing the company’s strategy and governance model to align them with the scale and ambition of this new phase. In such circumstances, experience is particularly important, as it enables us to implement significant changes in a focused manner, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure the consistent execution of the strategy at a new level of growth,” Vyšniauskas adds.

“It has been a great honor to lead LTG and work alongside a strong, ambitious team. During this period, the organization has continued to grow, implemented important changes, and maintained operational stability despite challenging circumstances. I am grateful to all my colleagues for our shared efforts. As I had not intended to continue leading LTG, I wish the organization every success as it enters its next stage of development,” says Mr. Lazauskas.

The CEO of LTG is appointed by the company’s Board of Directors. A competition for the position is expected to be announced shortly.

Egidijus Lazauskas has served as LTG CEO since June 23, 2022. He has worked within the LTG Group for nearly a decade: In 2017, he assumed leadership of the Freight Transport Directorate, and in May 2019, he became CEO of the newly established freight transport company LG CARGO, which was renamed LTG Cargo in 2020.
