On the occasion of European Museum Night, the Šiauliai Railway Museum invites you to explore the history of railways in Lithuania, discover historical rolling stock and other museum exhibits, learn how a turntable mechanism works, and hear the stories of Lithuanian deportees!

In both the indoor and outdoor exhibitions, visitors will find displays reflecting the history of the railways and take part in guided tours led by the museum’s curators. The interactive game „Quiz Time” will help visitors learn key facts about railway history.

You’ll also have the chance to explore a passenger train car with compartment seating, where volunteers will introduce interesting destinations across Lithuania you can reach by train.
Young visitors are welcome to solve railway-themed crosswords and draw trains.

Event Program:

• 18:00–22:00 – Educational game “Quiz Time”

• 18:00–22:00 – Screenings of historical films about railway infrastructure and rolling stock

• 18:00–22:00 – Firsthand stories from survivors of deportation, shared in a cargo wagon featuring an exhibit dedicated to the memory of Lithuanian deportees

• 18:00–19:00 – Educational session on railway safety

• 19:00–20:00 – Guided tour of the Šiauliai Railway Museum

• 20:00–20:30 – Turntable mechanism demonstration and educational session

Throughout the event, there will be games and activities for younger visitors within the museum grounds.
